Lucia Kickham is a Dublin-based dance artist, who has been performing and collaborating internationally since 2011.
Trained in The Netherlands, she has worked with companies and artists which include Liz Roche Company, Philip Connaughton, junk ensemble, Irish Modern Dance Theatre, TRASH, Maria Nilsson Waller and Jessie Keenan Dance.
Lucia has undertaken intensive training with David Zambrano in his techniques, Flying Low and Passing Through with support from the Arts Council’s Travel and Training scheme. She has a keen interest in group dynamics within improvisation, composition and teaching environments. Lucia regularly guest tutors on the BA and MA contemporary dance courses at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at University of Limerick. Lucia teaches professional classes and workshops at Dance Ireland, Maiden Voyage Belfast, Dance Limerick, Firkin Crane Cork and Galway Dance Project.
In recent years Lucia has been a recipient of awards from the Arts Council of Ireland, Dance Ireland and Tyrone Guthrie Centre. In 2020 she was awarded a Next Generation Award from the Arts Council of Ireland to develop her performance improvisation practice. Lucia was HATCH Artist 2018 at Dance Ireland, national dance development organisation and representative body for the professional dance community in Ireland. She an Associate Artist with Liz Roche Company 2019 - 2021.
